If anyone has any ideas on how to solve this (aside from getting a new iMac), I'd really appreciate hearing them. I checked on the LaunchPad and in the applications folder to see if a small fragment of the installer downloaded and was tricking the App Store into thinking it was on my computer, but it is not. I've removed the items from the cached folder for the App Store. I can't seem to get the App Store to realized the OS is still Yosemite, as it thinks High Sierra is installed. It only took about 1 or 2 seconds and I have slow internet speeds, so I know it didn't work. The App Store showed that the download was available, but then I clicked it to install it and it instantly went down into the area that shows the app has been installed. I finally turned it on and tried updating the OS (from Yosemite to the newest version it can get - High Sierra). My iMac sat for those years doing nothing. I used to use the iMac all the time, but shifted towards using the Macbook when I went back to college. I have a 2011 iMac and a 2015 Macbook Pro.
